Sen. Sanders and Sen. Warren, and to All To Whom It May Concern:

The media has made the “No Woman Can Win in 2020” issue a pointless he said / she said conflict that is not just a distraction but a problem that distracts from issues of substance. It also helps to create unwarranted schisms within the progressive wing of the party, and for that matter within the party overall. Now settling that issue will of necessity naturally run its course, but it is likely to nonetheless leave its impacts and residue behind. There is a however a very good solution to this problem that can be a ‘win-win-…-win’ for both Senators, their campaigns, the Democratic Party, and the public. The only losers here may be the news media and maybe the Republican Party; and these groups would not be a loss for either Senator. This solution is also quite easy to affect and doesn’t require a great deal of time or effort.

I don’t expect either Senator or their staffs to recognize this path to resolving the issue since it relies upon STEM-based knowledge and expertise; which is unlikely to be familiar to them or in their wheelhouses. To allay any fears or concerns that there are risks to either side, the path to resolving the issue doesn’t require either side to admit to something that diminishes their position or having to admit to having made a false statement to anyone, even each other.

On the benefit side, this solution will provide a strong message to the strength of the candidates’ ability to deal with and resolve conflicts, even ones that have significant implications to their own endeavors. Add to this that they render themselves less vulnerable to being attacked by other opponents and eventually their Republican rival in the general election.

If either Senator or a staff member wishes to explore how to resolve this distracting, divisive and pointless issue they need only reach out and ask.

Respectfully,
